Bannada IP Studio

Your Story. Your IP.
New Possibilities.

Have an original film, series, novel, reality format, vertical drama, documentary concept or other screen IP? Bannada Films is open to discovering creator-owned stories from independent writers and filmmakers, and showcasing selected projects to producers, studios, platforms, investors and other industry partners looking for original stories.

What We Consider

· Feature Films

· Web / OTT Series

· Limited Series

· Reality Formats

· Vertical Dramas

· Genre & Commercial IP

· Literary IP / Novels

· Documentary & Non-Fiction Formats

· Adaptable Story Worlds & Franchise Concepts

Projects may be at any stage — from an original concept to a completed screenplay or developed pitch package. You don't need a finished film. What matters is the underlying story, your rights position and its potential for screen development.

How It Works

01

Submit

Email contact@bannada.com with your project — a logline, synopsis, screenplay, pitch package, treatment, novel or format document, whatever you have. You do not need a completed film; what matters is the story, your rights position and its potential for screen development.

02

Review

Bannada reviews the submission for originality, rights position, format potential and fit with the IP Studio. Not every submission is selected for showcase, and submission alone does not guarantee a response.

03

Showcase

If selected, we'll share payment instructions for the one-time ₹1,500 showcase fee. Once paid, your project is published in the IP Studio catalogue for 6 months. The public listing is limited to title, genre, format, language, poster, tagline and logline — detailed screenplays, pitch decks and other sensitive material are never made publicly downloadable.

04

Industry Discovery

Producers, studios, OTT platforms and other industry professionals browse the IP Studio and can reach out about any listed project.

05

Introduction

When an interested party contacts Bannada about your project, we coordinate with you before sharing private contact details or facilitating an introduction.

06

Deal

If you and the interested party decide to proceed, you negotiate the appropriate option, licence, acquisition, development, production or other rights agreement directly — subject to a separate written agreement between you.

Showcase Fee

One-time IP Showcase Fee — ₹1,500 for 6 months.

This fee applies only to projects Bannada selects for the IP Studio — it is never charged just for emailing us your project. It covers the review, listing, hosting and catalogue management involved in showcasing your project for a 6-month window. It does not guarantee financing, production, distribution, acquisition or sale, and payment does not guarantee selection or placement. After 6 months, the listing expires unless renewed under the applicable listing terms.

Success / Facilitation Fee

3–5% — only when Bannada helps create the deal.

If a commercial transaction results from an introduction or facilitation that happened through Bannada, a 3–5% fee may apply to that transaction, as agreed in writing for the specific deal. No Bannada fee is charged simply because your project was listed, and none applies to a deal you reach independently, where Bannada had no role in originating or facilitating it. The exact fee, calculation basis, payment timing and other commercial terms are set out in writing before the relevant transaction proceeds.

A Simple Example

You list your project with Bannada for ₹1,500. A producer discovers it through the IP Studio and asks for an introduction. Bannada facilitates it, and you and the producer later sign a development agreement — a 3–5% fee applies to that agreement, as set out in writing beforehand. If instead you find a producer yourself, with no involvement from Bannada, no success fee applies.

You Retain Your IP

Submitting your project does not transfer ownership of your underlying IP. Unless you sign a separate written agreement, you remain the rights holder. Any option, licence, adaptation, acquisition, development, production or other rights are negotiated separately, between you and the interested party.

You're Free to Explore Other Opportunities

Listing your project with Bannada does not stop you from approaching producers, studios, platforms, agents or anyone else on your own. There's no exclusivity. If your project gets placed independently, just let us know and we'll remove the listing — no fee applies to a deal Bannada didn't help create. If you no longer wish to have your project listed for any reason, contact us and request its removal.

What Bannada Does — and Doesn't — Promise

Bannada can

  • · Curate and showcase selected creator-owned IP

  • · Where appropriate, explore further development, packaging or creative collaboration

Bannada does not guarantee

Submission is an opportunity for consideration, not a promise of placement.

Important Rights & Submission Notice

FAQ

Questions about the IP Studio.

Does submitting cost anything?

No. Emailing us your project is free. A one-time ₹1,500 showcase fee applies only if Bannada selects your project for public listing — it covers review, listing and catalogue management for a 6-month window, and is not a fee for guaranteeing financing, production or a sale.

Do I have to stop pitching elsewhere?

No. There is no exclusivity. You're free to keep approaching producers, platforms, agents or anyone else on your own while your project is listed. If your project gets placed independently, just let us know and we'll take the listing down — no fee applies in that case.

When does Bannada's 3–5% fee apply?

Only when a commercial transaction results from an introduction or facilitation that actually happened through Bannada. If you find a producer on your own and Bannada had no role in that opportunity, no success fee applies to that deal. Exact terms are set out in a separate written agreement for the specific transaction.

Do I keep ownership of my IP?

Yes. Submitting a project to Bannada does not transfer ownership. Unless you sign a separate written agreement, you remain the rights holder, and any option, licence, acquisition or production rights are negotiated separately.

What happens after 6 months?

Your listing expires after the initial 6-month showcase period unless it's renewed under the applicable listing terms.

Will my screenplay or pitch deck be publicly available?

No. The public catalogue showcases your project at a high level only. Detailed screenplays, pitch decks and other sensitive development materials are never made publicly downloadable — interested industry parties can request further information or an introduction through Bannada.
